  • QRD1114 IR emitted / Phototransistor

Very Slowly I’m getting back into to electronics … So I’m using a QRD sensor to control colours changing in a RGB LED strip… let’s start.. http://bildr.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/qrd1114.png

  • the community radio in BlueSkies

  • BLUESKIES

    BlueSkies in the Baxter Park!

  • finishing touch

  • colour samples

I tried different colours to see which matched best.

  • You can see here the hole left to pull the wires from the MP3 Trigger to the switch. Also you’ll be able to have a look at the kind of axis or rotation guide for the knob.  The radio’s structure is done!

  • the knob

Layouts were drawn in Illustrator to cut out the pieces for the knob’s structure. Laser cutter saves loads of time and makes the assembly perfect. I obviously had some minimal errors at the time of glueing as it was made by hand, but nothing that sanding can’t solve.

  • play 2

Today I came up with the wiring of all the components. So the MP3 Trigger is now responding to the rotary switch.  Also I start sorting things like the button’s mechanism.
